Homeschool Field Trip to:

Young Shakespeare 2016 & a Day at the Beach, enjoying the sunshine
The Comedy of Errors

Thursday, July 28, 10 am (check in at 8:30 a.m.) at Sand Harbor

Join us for the 15th season of the D.G. Menchetti Young Shakespeare Program as we present Shakespeare’s hilarious The Comedy of Errors. Two sets of twin brothers, lost to each other for many years after a shipwreck unwittingly end up in the same city with hilarious consequences for a cast of quirky characters. A fun and interactive hour-long adaptation of Shakespeare’s tale about a family reunited through a series of mistaken identities and mishaps.

This FREE program (suggested donation $5 per adult; $1 per child) affords an amazing live theater experience for young audience members and their families while simultaneously providing opportunities for young and aspiring actors from regional middle and high schools to participate in the production as performers!

****************

General Admission is typically $15 to $89 per person.

I think $1/child is very reasonable for admission. It's a donation!

This performance is FREE, but I will write a single check for all NNHS members who donate the recommended amount, so Shakespeare at Sand Harbor Festival can see how much HOMESCHOOLERS are WILLING TO SUPPORT THE ARTS! A check from the NNHS bank account will be more than just a donation. If you have a little extra to pitch in, we can use that to offer "scholarships" for other homeschoolers to join us.

****************

Don't want to join our group? Feel free to reserve your own seats at any other performance. http://laketahoeshakespeare.com/young_shakespeare/

Registration Deadline: July 26 at midnight. Refunds will not be processed after July 15.

If your plans change, PLEASE change your RSVP. You can email Activities@nnhs.org

Where to check in: See Gia at 8:30 a.m. to check in and get inside. The drive from Reno is a little over an hour with the traffic (expect traffic and long lines). Plan your departure accordingly.

CARPOOL IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. The shuttle is NOT a option for this performance, due to the schedule.

AFTER THE PERFORMANCE: Bring your beach gear, swimsuit/towel, water toys, sunblock, packed lunch, bottled water, brimmed hat and sunglasses and LET'S ENJOY THE BEACH AFTER THE PERFORMANCE CONCLUDES!

Tips & Advice
(The following applies to Sand Harbor visits only.)

General

Seating is general admission (first come, first served). All children must be accompanied by an adult. Please call the Parks staff directly at (775) 831-0494 to reserve parking and confirm unloading arrangements for buses. If you cannot attend, we appreciate advance notice so that we can accommodate other patrons.

Weather

Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival’s theater at Sand Harbor State Park is an outdoor venue. It is sensible to consider the weather forecast. Young Shakespeare performances at Sand Harbor begin at 10 a.m. (Times vary for other venues.) Temperatures can vary quickly – from cool to hot. Please consider protection from the sun when planning your Sand Harbor visit – especially for younger family members in your party (hats, sunglasses, sunscreen and water).

Parking

Sand Harbor State Park charges a parking fee ($10 in-state license plates / $12 out-of-state license plates) and debit/credit cards are not accepted. Please plan to pay in cash. Due to higher volumes of summer traffic, please allow some extra time for your visit, plan to arrive early and consider carpooling.

Food and Beverages

We encourage you to bring snacks/water to Young Shakespeare performances at Sand Harbor State Park. Our staff and volunteers thank you in advance for cleaning up after your party’s Young Shakespeare visit as we prepare for evening performances.
